Exterior Design

The new Lagoon 42 is sleek and modern, with curvaceous and flowing exterior lines penned by French designers VPLP. With a large aft deck, you’ll be able to enjoy plenty of time outdoors, enjoying Sun-downers from a large rectangular dining table that will comfortably seat 7-8 people. With a nicely designed steering station, you’ll find the Lagoon 42 has great visibility and plenty of room.

Interior Design

The Lagoon 42 layout is a great benefit. Inside this luxury catamaran, you’ll enjoy a spacious U-shaped galley that is well equipped with a three burner Eno stove and a top-loading fridge. The galley is open to the rest of the living space which includes an L-shaped couch where you can sit to run the outboard-facing nav station. Aside from the great layout, the Lagoon 42 is luminous and well ventilated with 5 portholes along the cabin roof, wrap-around cabin windows, and tri-fold doors to the deck.

Cabins

The Lagoon 42 exists in 3 or 4 cabins, including island double beds for the aft cabins and beds with side access for the forward cabins. The aft cabins benefit from an en-suite bathroom with a separate shower. The large windows in the cabins offer excellent sunlight and magnificent views of the surroundings.

Helm Station

At the coachroof bulkhead, offering many advantages:direct communication between the cockpit and salon, improved circulation, forward and aft of the helming station, direct access to the coachroof for easier access to the boom, a composite bimini with a sliding panel to ensure a good view of the sails, a closure panel for helming station safety when under way.

Sailing

The mast being moved further aft offers many advantages on a cruising catamaran: a self-tacking genoa for ease of use:
– a larger fore triangle for a greater choice of downwind sails,
– a shorter boom for ease of maneuvering,
– a mainsail that is broader near the head, taking advantage of less turbulent wind for a real improvement in performance,
– re-centering of the weight, which greatly reduces pitching.
